Uncooked, You can also use uncooked wheat berries, uncooked oats not oat meal, dry peas, dry beans, and lentils. You want something dryer than the wet phone. The dried grains attract the moisture from the wet phone. I have also gently dried the older models with a hand held hair dryer before I put them in whole grain. Dont dry the new models with a hair dryer. Their electronics are just too fragile.
